11 Lateral Movements
Key Accountabilities
- Apply deep understanding of urban planning, sustainability and livability concepts, Transportation development, SMART city agenda, socio-economic factors etc.. to provide extensive technical expertise and advice to shape future Urban Planning and Transportation Development strategies in alignment with Abu Dhabi’s strategic direction.
- Guide the team to develop models that allow evaluation of strategy options; provide technical leadership to the team through coaching and mentorship in the areas of flexible and sustainable spaces, social, economic and environmental aspects, new age technologies for urban design, cohesive living and social harmony.
- Leverage public and private partnerships to promote knowledge sharing and build networks; represent ADEO in international panels to enable knowledge exchange and elevate Abu Dhabi’s position on the world stage.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams from Policy Lab, Future Foresight and other departments in ADEO and related entities to provide expert advisory; apply knowledge of social development and social strategy , ethics and standards of practice to define standards of practice to highlight implications on urban planning and transportation development.
- Guide the team to produce high quality research and analysis; synthesize diverse data and viewpoints to develop possible scenarios and options explore Urban Planning and Transportation Development strategy alternatives and provide recommendations based on cost / benefit analysis and wider implications.
- Drive the development and application of innovative & technology-driven frameworks and instruments that monitor and predict the urban planning, sustainability and livability and SMART city trends to identify robust inputs for policy design
Preferred Experience And Exposure
- Experience working as an Urban Planning and Transportation Advisor, Smart City Expert or similar role.
- Deep technical knowledge in Urban Planning & Design, Transport planning, Social Affairs.
- Significant exposure to Public sector strategy and execution is an advantage.
- Experience in strategy design and evaluation.
- Experience dealing with complexity, arbitrating strategy trade-offs and complementarities.
