Key Accountabilities
  • Proactively contribute to key decision-making processes by leading the delivery of reliable, well-informed advice and assurance to the Executive Council and the organization’s sectors on legal matters including interests, risks and obligations, as well as the potential legal implications of organizational strategies, initiatives and other projects.
  • Provide leadership as the primary legal advisory representative and collaborate closely with other organization’s departments, including Procurement to ensure provision of quality legal services encompassing standard and non-standard agreements and transactions, legal opinions, policies and practices are in place, to promote professional and ethical standards within the organization.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to the Legal Advisory team on managing complex legal issues, compliance with laws and statutory regulations, and build the knowledge base of the Legal Advisory function by providing the direction and endorsement for legal studies and publications.
  • Engage and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders from public authorities and professional networks including external legal practitioners and government officials.
  • Lead and provide guidance on high-risk dispute resolution matters, including managing legal panels for possible litigation to ensure the organization’s rights and interest is adequately protected, represented and potential legal implications are addressed.
