Key Accountabilities
- Oversee the implementation of the various genomic research initiatives and related activities identified for the Genome Program and monitor the progress within the timeline and budget, leveraging reports and input from the AD Department of Health as well as the health authorities across UAE, the Clinical Research section as well as other entities / stakeholder institutions to drive achievement of the intended objectives
- Lead the development of a sound governance framework for the Genome Program Office to ensure government genomics programs are implemented according to the pre-defined regulations, the clinical as well as ethical standards, aligned with UAE Genomics Council’s direction
- Oversee the national biobanking program established for the Genome Program, ensuring effectiveness, high quality standards and compliance with ethical policies and guidelines
- Partner with key industry stakeholders within regional and global forums to increase program visibility and expand opportunities for the Program (e.g., new technologies and developments in the genomic research or analysis methodologies)
- Engage the relevant federal and local government entities, Policy Lab and Legal Affairs experts from ADEO as well as health authorities across UAE to establish policies and legislations governing the research and execution programs, including regulation on genomic data acquisition, storage and management
- Review budget requests received from the entities and track the financials against approved budget for reporting and escalation ,if necessary
- Develop communication strategies for the Genome Program and liaise with the established entity to ensure implementation of the strategies in accordance with the program goals
- Drive project management excellence to lead robust implementation of existing and new health programs in line with the Genome Program’s goal of providing the best healthcare system for all Emiratis
Preferred Experience And Exposure
- Expert in managing complex project with- in scientific or public health program
- Detail knowledge in Genomic Science & Medicine
- Experience in project management with exposure to the applicable policies and processes for Government / Government-related entities.
- Expert in project management processes which includes initiation, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting and familiar with robust suite of project management tools.
- Experience in engaging and influencing stakeholders of varying profiles and levels
