Key Accountabilities
  • Review submitted designs and specifications to ensure completeness and adherence to latest relevant regulations, codes, legislation and design standards, and collaborate with Document Controllers to ensure maintenance and distribution of design information are managed effectively.
  • Maintain list of capital projects’ design deliverables and design schedule and track the development of design deliverables to ensure quality delivery and on-time completion.
  • Verify design and schedule estimates for owner-directed change orders and contractor requested changes and ensure logs, estimates, change orders, vendor forms, surveys and other technical support documentation are updated accordingly.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and routine tests to ensure regulations, codes, legislation and design standards are followed and maintain an up-to-date understanding of contract terms and schedules to anticipate and advise Programme and Project Managers on how to prevent project delays on design matters.
  • Research into new industry developments and design innovation, including design sustainability and ethics management practices and latest technological advancements used in design to strengthen capital projects delivery and where appropriate implement them into test designs.
Preferred Experience And Exposure
  • Strong understanding of the technical aspects of design and construction matters, systems and processes.
  • Knowledgeable of planning applications, building regulations, codes of practice, environmental and health and safety regulations.
